I had taken my surgery paperwork with me for Angel Vet to look at, and when the vet saw the meds sheet, she gave that tsk, tsk look and said she couldn’t believe they gave her 2 of the meds in conjunction with each other. Within 30 minutes, she was eating, drinking, and able to walk. they gave her subcutaneous fluids, a shot for nausea, and a 24 hour pain injection. She had lost 10% of her body weight in 24 hours, and was seriously dehydrated. I went to Angel Vet, and they saw her right away. I decided to see if I could get her into our regular vet. I called CPO and they said to get her in immediately (they were in the Colony today, and not in lewisville). Our other dogs couldn’t even pick up her spirits. She was clearly in discomfort and very lethargic. She hadn’t eaten or drank water in 36 hours, and was just curled up shaking. Today it was obvious something was very wrong. The initial visit (chip and vaccines and heartworm check) went fine, but yesterday we took our dog in for her spay surgery. It looked like I could save a few hundred dollars. The reviews look pretty good here, and I have a friend who is on low income and has had a good experience here. I rescued a dog from a kill shelter, and checked pricing with our regular vet for microchip, vaccines, dental and spay. I wouldn’t recommend going to this place due to them missing his rabies shot and 2 medical issues that were easy to find. They didn’t think to do a fecal exam when he had been with other cats that had minimal vet care. They saw his ears were dirty and didn’t think to see if he had an infection or tell me they needed to be cleaned. They let me walk out of the office without getting it. The vet and tech didn’t mention to me that he needed it. The shots record page had said he was due for his rabies shot on Dec 12, 2015. They also took a fecal test since he was with other cats in a shelter. They also looked in his ears and said they were incredibly dirty and he probably had an ear infection (they look exactly the same as they did when I brought him to CPO). I took him to my normal vet today (not CPO) and they did blood work to see if his white blood count was high (it was and he got put on different antibiotics). They looked over his entire body including his nose, ears, mouth, temperature, etc. I was told if it wasn’t better in a few days to bring him back. He had an upper respiratory infection and they gave him a shot for it. Brought my new kitten (from a shelter) in for their first checkup.
